Jason’s Labrador Drake became a Field Trial Champion after winning the Midland Counties Field Trial Society’s two-day stake in September 2017. This qualified him for the IGL Retriever Championship for the second year in a row. Drake followed it up by winning the Cornwall Field Trial Society’s one-day stake a few weeks later. He also came second at the Coventry Field Trial Society’s two-day qualifying stake. At the Kennel Club’s Gundog Working Tests at Chatsworth on 17 June 2018, Drake came second in the two-day Open Working Test.

Drake is a loving dog, with great trainability. He is known for his hunting abilities as well as his straight lines to get to an area. He’s soft natured but very driven, and enters cover easily and in a controlled manner.

Drake has produced some excellent puppies. Contact Jason for details of expected litters.

Berryshot Bernie

Berryshot Bernie, known fondly as Bertie, is a client’s dog who is now coming into his prime. Jason has taken this dog for residential training since he was a 6 month old pup. In his three years Bertie has won many awards. In 2018, he came second at the UGS All Aged Trial, qualifying for the finals alongside FT Ch Kestrelway Drake. At the finals, Jason handled Bertie to win the trial with a 300 yard retrieve across a valley. Bertie has automatically qualified for next season’s final as defending champion.

A very well bred dog, Bertie is owned by Steve and Wendy Berry. Bertie has been an easy dog to train. He’s steady, honest and loves picking birds. He won his first field trial award at just 19 months old.

Berryshot Wigeon

Widgeon is has made a great start to his field trial career. He took a 3rd at the Guildford Novice and a 4th in the Hampshire Novice trial in January 2019 at only 20 months old .

In Sept 2019, he gained a Certificate of Merit in an All Aged Trial. Two weeks later, he won a Novice trial in Suffolk. Then in late December he took a 4th at another All Aged trial at the UGS. He ran in three trials that season and gained awards in each.

We hope next season he can progress to greater things, being the son of FTCh Kestrelway Drake.
