Jason Mayhew Gundog Training offers a broad range of training experiences, so whether you’re a beginner starting out with your first gundog, an experienced handler wanting to improve your performance at field trials or you’re wanting to improve your picking-up experience at your local shoot, Jason can provide the training you and your dog need.
Based on the Hampshire/West Sussex border and close to the South Downs, the facilities at Jason Mayhew Gundog Training provide for a full training experience: over 150 acres of open farmland and tracks, woodland, lakes and ponds, heather and bracken, jumps and live game (predominantly partridge and pheasant) through cover crop during the season, with the support of the Cowdray Estate up on Broomhill.
Training is available on an individual basis and to groups. In addition, residential training is also available for a small number of individual dogs, either on a long or short term basis.
Jason has appeared on TV programmes such as Britain’s Favourite Top 100 Dogs and on James Martin’s British Adventure. He recently appeared again with James Martin on ITV’s This Morning programme.
Jason has qualified for the IGL Retriever Championship three times and has made up two Field Trial Champions.
